Your Hair Was Pushed Too Far, Now What?

So your hair was pushed too far, now what?

Maybe it was an accident, maybe it was a bad decision, regardless of how your hair became damaged, this guide will help your hair get on the road to recovery!

Just a few years ago the only option would be to wait for your hair to grow out or cut the damage off … but now Olaplex is here to show some love to those locks in distress.

Where do you begin? Go to an Olaplex Salon and ask for a Stand Alone Treatment, then purchase Olaplex No.3 to continue rebuilding your hair at home. You can also purchase it online here.

You cannot over use Olaplex, so the more often you treat the hair, the healthier it will be. We know, the good news just keeps on coming. Use No. 3 at least twice a week until your hair begins to feel better. For best results with No. 3, use our step by step guide here.

As a company, we do not recommend sleeping in Olaplex treatments. We do get tons of feedback though from people (Kim Kardashian included) who love the results of overnight wear. We just want to make sure you don’t sweat and get any product into your beautiful eyes! Another factor is damp hair can actually lead to more breakage. Your hair is much more fragile when damp– so tossing and turning in your sleep may put unnecessary stress on that fragile hairline area.

Treat your hair as you would your most treasured possession. You want to be extra gentle when your hair is wet, so when you detangle–use a brush or wide tooth comb starting from the ends and working up. NEVER rub your hair with a towel to dry it. Squeeze gently or blot, preferably with a soft t-shirt or microfiber towel.

Stay away from heat! Save styling with heat for days you absolutely must. When you do decide to style your hair use a great leave in conditioner and a fabulous heat protectant!

Lastly, treat yourself to a great shampoo, mask, and conditioner for moisture and/or protein depending on your needs. Olaplex No.3 is essential for at-home use to rebuild and strengthen your hair, but you may also want to invest in other masks that target needs or deficiencies like moisture and protein. Stay tuned for our next blog post focused on moisture and protein needs and how to tell if you fall into those categories!
