What Does Healthy Hair Mean When It Comes To Color, Styling, and Texture?

The health of your hair determines anything you want to do to it. From styling to color services, having healthy hair is so much more than being soft and shiny. The healthier your hair is, the better it styles, holds onto color, and fulfills its natural texture. With OLAPLEX, the goal is to have healthy hair from the inside out because, with healthy hair, the opportunities are endless, from expression to confidence.

Color

For color, healthy hair is everything. It’s an optimistic starting point; it determines how far a stylist can push it and how long your color will last. When the hair is healthy internally, the chemicals have more bonds to latch onto. Bonds need to break to create any chemical change in the hair. With OLAPLEX, not only can you prep your hair with treatments to get it in the healthiest shape possible, but OLAPLEX can also mitigate the damage done during chemical processing.

When bonds are healthy, the hair’s porosity lessens, so the color doesn’t wash out of the hair as quickly when washed. This means that when you invest in color, have your colorist use OLAPLEX in the process, and elevate your at-home care with OLAPLEX treatments. Doing so will extend the life of the color just by keeping your hair healthy.

Styling

Hairstyling itself pairs with two types of damage; thermal and mechanical. Mechanical occurs when you run your fingers through your hair, brush it, use clips and styling accessories, hair ties, and even while you sleep and brush your hair against your pillow. Thermal styling is all things heat like flat irons, blow dryers, and curling wands. These all cause damage, but what makes them worse is when applied to already compromised hair. When you regularly treat the hair and maintain its integrity, OLAPLEX can mitigate the damage done by these seemingly harmless styling tasks.

Healthier hair will hold a style better, it will have more shine, and it will look more polished overall. When styling on an unhealthy canvas, some matters you may run into are flyaways from breakage, lack of uniformity, frizz, and unmanageability. When the hair is healthy, the cuticle lays flat, meaning the hair doesn’t tangle as much.

Natural Texture

Often we resort to thermal, chemical, or mechanical styling because we don’t know what to do with our natural texture. It is likely that if you style your hair thermally, or treat it with chemicals for color, that your natural texture isn’t what you remember it to be in childhood. This leads to all the other methods we resort to when managing our hair’s look. With regular OLAPLEX treatments and best practices, you can treat your hair back to health, getting it as close to its virgin-like state as possible.
